Thousands Attend Washington D.C. Vigil for Charlie Kirk
Washington, D.C. – September 14, 2025 — Mourners gathered in large numbers outside the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to attend a candlelight prayer vigil honoring the life of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot during an event at Utah Valley University just four days earlier.
Long lines formed as supporters, friends, and members of the military waited patiently to pay their respects. The solemn crowd reflected the widespread grief felt across the country over the shocking loss of the 31-year-old public figure.
Inside the Kennedy Center, prayers were offered and tributes delivered. Many remembered Kirk as a fearless voice for conservative values and a tireless champion of youth empowerment through his leadership at Turning Point USA.
Kirk was struck by a single bullet while addressing a crowd at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on September 10. His assassination has sent shockwaves across political and faith communities nationwide.
The D.C. vigil stood as a poignant tribute to Kirk’s legacy — a life marked by conviction, activism, and a profound influence on a generation.
